GUILDFORD’S TUNSGATE QUARTER TO OPEN
WITH A SERIES OF EVENTS FROM 15TH MARCH
Tunsgate Quarter, the 80,000 sq ft retail and leisure development being rebuilt and reconfigured in the heart of Guildford town centre, will open to customers with a special opening event on Thursday 15th March 2018.
OKA, The White Company, Bobbi Brown, Loaf, Cath Kidston and lululemon will all open at launch, joining the existing TM Lewin on the High Street. The Ivy Castle View will follow in mid-Spring with spectacular views of Guildford Castle and the Surrey Hills from its al-fresco dining terrace. In May Nespresso will open a ‘Boutique’ concept store, offering coffee masterclasses and an interactive experience with its in-store coffee specialists.
At 70% pre-let, several other high quality lifestyle brands will be opening at Tunsgate Quarter over the following months. A programme of special events will take place throughout the spring and summer to celebrate the opening of these further shops and restaurants, providing a breadth of new experiences to visitors. At opening, on 15th March, Tunsgate Quarter will welcome customers to the redesigned centre for the first time, where visitors will be be able to take advantage of a host of exclusive offers, promotions and entertainment, continuing into the weekend.

Over 100 new jobs have been created during the construction phase, as the team worked tirelessly to help bring the vision for Tunsgate Quarter to life. Once all the shops and restaurants are open, the centre will have also created over 250 further jobs in Guildford. Combined with the brands’ own store fit-outs, over £30 million has been invested into Tunsgate Quarter to create an attractive and appealing shopping and dining experience, and we hope Guildford residents are as pleased with the results as we are.”
Ongoing interest and commitment from top brands and the quality of brands opening at launch is testament to Queensberry’s vision and strategy for Tunsgate Quarter. Stylish British furniture and homeware brand, Loaf, has chosen Tunsgate Quarter as the location of its first showroom outside London and its new flagship. Loaf will perfectly complement the neigbouring OKA store; the luxury home accessories and furniture store will be its largest shop outside London. The White Company is relocating from its current location in the town to double the size of its shop, with an increased collection, and premium cosmetics brand, Bobbi Brown, will open its first stand-alone shop in Guildford. Lululemon will provide a new space for visitors to shop, stretch and sweat, with complimentary yoga and fitness classes each week.

Tunsgate Quarter has been designed as an extension of the High Street and to complement the independent retailers adjacent to the scheme. Through better configured circulation routes, customers will move more easily around the area, to the benefit of other local stores and cafes. The centre will connect the High Street to Castle Street and Tunsgate, currently undergoing council led pedestrianaisation works, to improve the overall visual appeal of the area.
